Karen Burniston November Release Blog Hop
November 08, 2019
It's a fun and busy week for us as we launch our November 2019 release of seven new die sets. The dies start shipping from our website on Monday, November 11, 2019 in the order received.
Tanya had the brilliant idea to add a blog hop to our release week featuring our fabulous Design Team. Many thanks to Frances Byrne for putting everything together for us and collecting all the team blog links. In addition to the great inspiration on the hop, we're giving away prizes! Here are the details:
For my card and video I wanted to feature the Parcel Pop-up and Flap and Closure die sets in a clear-front bottom-fold card. For an added bit of interactive fun I cut a window into the parcel to create a double reveal. Watch the video tutorial to learn this technique, which can be easily adapted to other themes.
My card measures 4.5" square when closed and it could be mailed in an A7 envelope if I swapped out the metal doorknob closure for a button or something else with a low profile. Because of my closure, however, I'll have to use a bubble mailer. The stitched hills are made using our Nature Edges die set. The stamp set is Paper Smooches Christmas Sampler. The snowmen and small snowflakes are from our Snowman die set. The large snowflakes are from the Winter Charms. (Check the end of this post for supply links)
The flap is made into a magnetic closure. Lift the flap to open the card. As the card opens, the center snowman starts to lift up out of the box.
Once open the scene is revealed. The sliding snowman holds a greeting sign and a hidden snowman is revealed in the window.
If you missed this week's Designer Challenge, make sure you check it out for another video featuring the Snowman and Winter Charms. That video teaches how to create the different faces on the snowmen.
Ready to hop on? Here are the stops on the hop. Remember, each stop has a $25 gift credit to our website to give away randomly to a commenter, so leave comments on all the blogs to increase your chances. The drawings will take place on November 15, 2019. Best of luck!
Want to give my peek-a-boo parcel card a try? Here are the die sets that I used. Cardstock colors are white, brown, orange and glitter white.
