LOVE Twist Circle Panel Card
January 12, 2017
Today I'm sharing a Twist Circle Panel Card in a Love theme.
Shelly mentioned that the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog had a theme of Be Square, so I thought I'd adapt the measurements of the Twist Circle Panel Card video to be a square card with square panels and enter it into the Challenge.
This is a top fold 4.5" square card with a ribbon tie closure. The front features layered heart stamps from a Dina Wakley set, plus a key charm from Hobby Lobby.
When the card is opened the panels twist and open. The laser-cut wood letters came from Michaels and I painted them to match my project colors. The patterned papers are older from my stash - Teresa Collins.
For the Twist Circle Panel card itself, I followed the video instructions, with these changes to the dimensions:
- Backing Card: 4.5" x 4.5", scored for folding in the center with 5 closely-spaced score lines to create a rolling fold to accommodate the thick wooden letters in the closed position. (NOTE: If you're not using thick items on the panels, there is no need for a rolling fold - simply score once in the center of the backing card)
- Inner Card: 4.25" x 4.25", scored for folding in the center.
- Arms: 1.25" x 3.75", scored for folding lengthwise up the center
- Interior Pop-up Panels: 8" x 2", scored every 2".
Here is the video tutorial for converting the Pop it Ups Twist Circle die into a base for a panel card. If you're making the square version, make the appropriate measurement substitutions listed above.
