Today I'm sharing a card using the House Pivot Card #902. This die is such a great all-purpose die for many themes; Welcome to the Neighborhood, Congrats on your new Home, Welcome Home, Home is where the Heart is, Open House, Happy Spring, etc. The house also can be converted into a bird house, dog house, castle, jean pockets, a man's vest - so many possibilities!
If you're new to this die or need a refresher for how to use it, here is a video from last year when I used the House Pivot Card for a Mother's Day card. You can see photos of the video card and a bunch of great samples by the team on this blog post.
For my new card, I cut the decorator house out of a dark brown cardstock, embossed it with an embossing sandwich to raise the bricks, and then lightly brushed white paint over the house with a foam brush to highlight the bricks. Now that Susan Tierney-Cockburn has joined ECD as a licensed artist there are some wonderful choices for itty-bitty flowers to fit in the window boxes of the house. I used the tiny flowers from the Country Flora 1 set. I also used the heart from the Poppy the Owl set on the front door.
The other Pop it Ups accessories that work great with the House Pivot Card are the All Seasons Tree, Clouds Embossing Folder and Outdoor Edges, which has a grass edge. I used more of the Poppy hearts in the tree.
The greeting is meant to convey "Home is where the Heart is". I used the ECD Alphabet Caps die for the letters, cutting out a rectangle around each letter to use the negative space instead of the positive letter. In the center of the O is the heart from the Oval Accordion die.
It's hard to believe that a whole year has gone by since we launched this die. It's always been one of my favorites and if you'd like to own one, check your local independent craft store or here are some online shopping links for the supplies used on this card.
