Eileen Hull has organized a new blog hop! This hop will feature all 12 of her new Fresh Vintage Sizzix dies and the first project will be posted September 27th. From there, new dies will be featured every Tuesday and Thursday until all twelve have been featured, ending on November 3rd.

Right now we're still testing the buttons for the navigation system, but by September 27th, that little icon in the upper left corner is going to make it super-dee-duper easy to navigate through all the cool projects. (Thanks for your amazing techie skills, Jen Goode!)

This is going to be fun!

As promised, I am posting the photos and a downloadable instruction sheet for making my version of the Creative Escape Autograph Book.

If you did not attend Creative Escape, you might still want to download these instructions and make a different version of the album in another theme. Then post that version on your blog, send me a link, and I'll include you in the next Pop-up Spotted post! See? Winning!

This album was my jump-off from the brilliant Downloadable Pennant Book designed by Heidi Swapp for the event. To make the album as pictured below, you will need to first download and print Heidi's pennants.

Store owners/teachers - you have my permission to teach this project commercially, including handing out copies of the instructions, under the following conditions:

1. Please either re-design the project and remove the pennants OR contact Heidi first to gain her permission to use the pennants in your class. (You do not need to gain permission to use the pennants for a private "just for you" project, especially if you attended Creative Escape.) You can contact Heidi through her blog: Heidi Swapp

Creative Escape was an amazing experience and if Bazzill and/or Heidi Swapp ever do another event, feel confident to register for it. They have truly thought of everything! I am so grateful to have been a part of it. The staff, the teachers, the facilities, the program, the food, the sponsors, but mostly, above all, the students, made it magical!

Creative Escape Countdown!

 

Creative Escape is right around the corner and I am so giddy I'm running with scissors!! (OK, not really, but you get the picture!) Are you coming to CE?! Because you should. Just sayin'!

My class project was "sneaked" on the Creative Escape website a while back with this picture:

 

Everything in the kits has been pre-cut, but there will be quite a bit of assembly. To make sure you are as prepared as you can be, I've got a What to Bring list and a What to Watch list:

What to Bring:

• Scissors (Hint: also bring an old pair of scissors to use for cutting tacky tape. This will keep your good scissors from getting gummy!)
• Trimmer
• Dry Adhesive (tape runner, any brand)
• Wet Adhesive (fine line glue pen, any brand)
• Paper Piercer (or yarn needle, or push pin - something to make a hole for a mini-brad)
• Scoring Tool (I like to use an embossing stylus for scoring)
• Ruler (the ruler is used as a straight edge, so don't worry about units)
• Bone Folder (Optional, but it really helps make crisp creases!)

If you REALLY want to impress the teacher and your classmates, do some visual homework before class and acquaint yourself with how the Hearts-a-Plenty die goes together.

What to watch:

 

You will not need any photos for class - they can all be added afterward.

Pop-up Spotted! Maureen at Watermarks

Hello blog-land! I know I have been remiss, and absent, and remissly absent. This "summer in a suitcase" has left me gasping for air! The kids start back to school next week and I'll be heading to Creative Escape and can HARDLY WAIT! 

But that's not what I'm here to talk about. Today, it's all about Maureen Morton, and her little monsters. I absolutely LOVE what Maureen has created using the Scalloped Circle Pop-up Die along with the Celebrate Sizzlit set and some adorable Hero Arts stamps. Take a close look inside her card. She's cut the Scalloped Circle out of white to blend (and disappear) into her background, but then she also has some stars cut in white, to give the whole background a sense of texture. You can soak up a lot of fun details in this card!
