Happy Pi Day! I am supposed to be posting a pi/pie-themed card today for the Paper Pros challenge in honor of Pi Day, but preparing the class kits for tomorrow's "Pop-ups 3 Ways" class at Scrapp'n Savvy took much longer than expected, so I ran out of time to make a card. Instead, I'm posting the photos for tomorrow's class.
This class focuses on three different ways to make pop-up cards - with templates, with dies and with SVG files.
For the template card, I took inspiration from a card made by my cousin Jessica. I added an extra element of interactivity by incorporating a spinner cut on the upper fold. As the card opens, one of the flowers spins up above the card.
For the die card, I used the Lucy Label Pop-up die set along with the Hot Air Balloon die set for a birthday card.
For the SVG card, I converted one of my earliest Sizzix dies, the Pop-up House, into an SVG file that can be cut on all the major electronic cutting machines.
Fine glue bottle/pen
Scoring tool & ruler
Craft knife & cutting mat
Die cutting machine with plates/platforms for wafer-thin dies
Removable tape to hold dies in place (or magnetic platform if you prefer)
Wink of Stella pen for sparkle (optional)
Inks for edges (optional)
Photos of the cards from this blog or from the e-mail (print or access on a phone or tablet) - you do not need to print the templates - they will be provided in class
