Graduation Pull Card with Poppy the Owl
June 2016 Pop it Ups Designer Challenge: Summer!

#1 Dad - Father's Day Cascading Tag Card

Happy Father's Day!

This week is our Designer Challenge, with a theme of Summer, and for my video tutorial I'll be teaching how to combine the Adirondack Chair Pop-up with the Tags Pivot Card to make a card I'm calling a Cascading Tag Card.

I liked the technique so much that I decided to make John's Father's Day Card using the same technique.

Since I will be posting a full video tutorial for this card technique on Wednesday, I won't spend a lot of time explaining the mechanics, but here are some photos and descriptions of the decorations.

The card measures 3" x 6" when closed. The outer corners are rounded. For the card front I used my electronic cutting machine to cut the letters and shadow for the "Fatherhood, Est. 1998" title. The paper clip die comes with the Tags Pivot Card.

You can see all the layers in this partially open photo. Everything folds flat for mailing, but it's a bulky flat because of all the layers.

Open the card and both Adirondack chairs expand to create a cascading pop-up. The largest decorator tag die from the Tags Pivot Card is the exact perfect size for decorating and linking the two chairs together. Wednesday's video will explain this.

Another fun feature of this card is the ability to hang charms from the supports. This could be charm dies, or small dies turned into charms or even metal charms, as I used here. The #1 Dad letters and shadows are made with my electronic cutter.

Tune in Wednesday for a full video tutorial for a summer birthday version of this card.
