I've received a lot of requests for specific instructions to re-create the flip album that I made as my Week 6 Blog Hop Project so I decided to make a version of this album as a $2 template.
The template version is very basic, with straight lines and angles, since you will have to cut it by hand. However, once you've made one using the template, you'll understand exactly how to make one using the Album, Brackets die like I did for the blog hop.
Here's a sample of the template made up and decorated:
The album pages can be made out of cardstock, as I did for this album, or something sturdier, like cardboard, lightweight chipboard, or matboard. (As long as you can cut it with a craft knife)
Each page of my sample album is made from a 6x6 square of cardstock, so for a four-page album as I've made here, you'll need one full sheet of cardstock and another quarter sheet for the hinges.
In the detail shot above you can see some creative options for decorating the album using dangling items and overhanging embellishments.
Supply List for sample album:
"Garden Party" papers and embellishments - Imaginisce
"Aloe Vera" cardstock - Bazzill Basics
Sizzix Dies - "Tattered Florals" and "Chip Block alphabet" by Tim Holtz
Black swirl rub-ons - Rusty Pickle (retired, stash item)
General Craft/source unknown - rhinestones, chain, matboard
Also included are some paper templates for cutting mitered frame edges to decorate the frames and decorative paper shapes to decorate the flip pages.
To buy a 3-page PDF file including the templates and instructions for constructing a Flip Album, click the Buy Now button below or use the drop-down menu in this blog's sidebar if you want to start a shopping cart to purchase other $2 templates. Delivery is by e-mail after I receive notification of payment.

So, so cool! Love the template option! :-)
