Happy St. Patrick's Day! I am wearing my Tulane sweatshirt (Green Wave!) in honor of the occasion.
You asked for it . . . now you've got it. But . . . to watch it all you'll have to devote 42 minutes of your life! I know, I know, it's a beast of a tutorial, but making a pop-up birdcage out of a pop-up Christmas Tree takes a few steps, yo!
As usual, though, I've broken the tutorial into bite-sized chunks, about 5 minutes each, so you can go back and review any particular section individually.
The card I'm creating in the tutorial is this one:

Hi Karen,
Wow, this is amazing. I bought the christmas tree die after I did your project with Lance. I did the Ranger U last weekend with Tim, I love his products. Now you used his die for your popup and I can't believe you did it. It's so fantastique. I was already a big fan of you (you know!), but this makes me love you more! You rock!

This card is fantastic! I can't wait to make one! Where are those Sizzix dies available? Thanks for your expertise!
Posted by: melanie | March 20, 2010 at 08:08 AM
Thank you so much! Jil, yes, you can make the pop-up birdcage with the Stampin' Up! O Christmas Tree die - just don't use the third tier of pieces and don't cut any of the third-tier notches in the backs of your birdcage. Melanie, you can find Tim's dies in stores and online. Here's his official sourcing guide: http://www.timholtz.com/alterations-dies.htm
The pop-up Christmas tree die is available at retailers AND at Sizzix.com. A direct link is in the body of this blog post. Thanks!
